This February we’re getting to spend a lot of quality time with our friends at Usal, a community that connects people to nature and each other through outdoor activities. In response to LA’s devastating wildfires, we partnered with them to make all LA events free for February as part of their LA Community Restoration Initiative.
Most recently, we set sail out of Marina Del Rey with Nick Sharp of This is Water. On-board Nick’s 42-foot catamaran were first-time and experienced sailors, equally enthused about the dolphin sightings, dreamy sunset, refreshing ocean dip, and community that they were building. At the end of all that adventure, a meditation was offered to seal in the buzz of that good energy.

It’s not just homes, livelihoods, and land that were impacted by LA’s recent wildfires— our relationship and access to nature have been affected, too. But, out on the ocean, your senses come alive and it’s difficult to be anywhere but fully present. That’s This is Water’s mission: to invite folks to experience the magic of that vastness and see adventure as their ally in creating a life that’s mindful, expressive, and a little bit wild. They envision a world where people feel empowered to face life's challenges with resilience, compassion, and belief in their own potential.
